Aston Villa close in on a deal for Lucas Digne to strengthen their defensive line

Aston Villa, the English Premier League club Close the deal to grab “Lucas Digne” Everton’s full-back to join the team in January.

Steven Gerrard’s men are close to completing a £25m deal for Everton left-back Lucas Digne. And the negotiations have reached the stage.

Villa have been keeping an eye on Digne, 28, since he was unable to secure a place in the starting XI under Rafael Benitez and talks have progressed considerably. It is expected that there will be an official announcement soon.

Last week, Benitez said Lucas Digne did not want to stay here and wanted to leave the club. He has since not played for Everton since December 1, attracting interest from several Premier League teams. Newcastle United, Chelsea and also Serie A UFABET teams.

In the winter market, Villa have signed Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho, 29, from Barcelona until the end of the season. There is also an option to buy at a price of 33 million pounds if impressed with his performance. This marks Gerrard’s first addition as Villa manager.

Along with El Ghazi, winger Trezeguet is currently competing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations is thought to be available for transfer this month.

Coutinho is due to train with his new team-mates for the first time on Wednesday after arriving in Birmingham on Tuesday. Digne would be Aston Villa’s second January signing after Philippe Coutinho arrived on loan
